Exports of goods remain in positive territory on an annual cumulative basis, despite a year-on-year decline in October due to (scheduled) technical stoppages at UPM plants. If we set aside this effect, October exports would have been the same or slightly higher than those of the same month last year. From January to October, exports of goods totaled US$ 11,356 million, a figure 4% higher than that recorded in the same period of the previous year (graph). The figure is even higher than that reported in October 2022 (a record year), when in 10 months US$ 11,262 million was reached. However, it should be clarified that these are preliminary figures based on export requests, so the final volumes and amounts may vary. Especially this year, due to the conflict at the port, the difference between requests and actual shipments will likely be greater than usual.
