The XXII Vaccine Pregnancy Diagnostic Evaluation Workshop 2024 at INIA Treinta y Tres has reported a significant 14-point increase in the pregnancy rate of Uruguay's breeding herd, reaching a record 84.1%. Ultrasounds on 315,274 cows showed that over 84% were pregnant, with a low failure rate of 5%. This surge in pregnancy rates is expected to result in a breeding stock of around 4.26 million heads, which could lead to a record production of nearly 3.2 million calves, surpassing the 2020 maximum of 3.01 million.
