In 2020, the United States set a record for dairy exports, with nearly 2.4 million metric tons sent out, an 11% increase from the previous year. The export value surpassed $6 billion for the first time since 2014, a 9% increase from 2019. The top markets included Mexico, Canada, China, the Philippines, and South Korea, with China seeing a 45% increase in value over 2019. The top export products were milk powder, fresh and other cheeses, milk albumin, lactose, and infant formula. Michael Dykes, CEO of the International Dairy Foods Association, emphasized the industry's resilience and growth, but noted that industry expansion requires continued support from the Administration and elected officials.
