US: Flour production declines and shows adjustment in the quarter

Flour production in the United States mills recorded a contraction in the third quarter of this year, a movement that reflects the adjustment of the sector after the delayed release of official data. The volume reached 106,230 million cwts, a drop of 1.1% compared to the same period in 2024. The publication, expected for the beginning of November, was postponed due to the temporary suspension of federal activities, which delayed the consolidation of the period's figures. Even with the annual decline, the quarter showed an increase of 3.2% from the second quarter, although it was the lowest result for the period in four years. In the accumulated period from January to September, production totaled 314,519 million cwts, a reduction of 1% compared to the same period of the previous year.
