U.S. import of Peruvian avocados increases by 75% in volume during spring and summer

This expansion reflects both a "high year" in Peru's production cycle and a deliberate shift by U.S. buyers towards multi-origin procurement, in order to ensure year-round availability and greater flexibility in fruit calibers and quality. Pre-season trade forecasts anticipated a shipment volume exceeding 90.7 million kilograms between May and September from Peru; the final figures were close to the upper limit of those projections, thanks to sustained quality and calibers ranging from medium to large.
