In May, US beef, pork, and lamb exports reached record highs in both volume and value, with beef exports alone exceeding $1 billion for the fourth consecutive month. Despite challenges such as the strength of the US dollar and logistical issues, meat exports saw a 1% increase to 135,005 metric tons and a 20% increase in value to $1,090 million. Pork exports experienced a 21% decrease but achieved the highest monthly volume since November, and lamb exports saw a 35% increase in volume and a 40% increase in value. The US Meat Exporters Federation (USMEF) highlighted the resilience of the industry amidst economic and logistical challenges.
