US pork exports to Mexico reached record highs in 2022, with a 9% increase from the previous year and a value of 1.84 billion dollars, a 20% increase from 2021. The exports, which included fresh and frozen hams, as well as jowls and loins, were supported by the National Pork Board and USDA's Market Access Program. The US Meat Export Federation in Mexico also developed a popular pork dish, chicharrón, from pork jowls, and successfully promoted pork loin in Mexico through a series of seminars.
