On August 29, 2024, the Obour market stabilized vegetable prices, with tomatoes ranging from 9 to 14 pounds per kilo, onions from 7 to 11 pounds, zucchini from 18 to 22 pounds, carrots from 7 to 11 pounds, beans from 25 to 35 pounds, local eggplant from 5 to 8 pounds, pepper from 10 to 13 pounds, molokhia from 4 to 5 pounds, cucumber from 7 to 11 pounds, lemon from 3 to 11 pounds, taro from 20 to 24 pounds per kilo, garlic from 35 to 60 pounds, okra from 30 to 45 pounds per kilo. The Egyptian state is providing support to farmers, including soft loans, establishment of agricultural greenhouses, and easing licensing procedures, to aid in agricultural development and economic stability.
