AEON Group, a Japanese retail company, has been importing fresh lychees from Thanh Ha County, Vietnam, for the past five years and plans to increase its import by 120% in 2024, reaching about 30 tons. The company is satisfied with the quality of the Vietnamese lychees and the planting process, which adheres to Global Gap standards. Other Vietnamese producers also plan to meet these standards to cater to high-end markets. Since the start of the lychee season, Honglong Production has exported about 50 tons of lychees to various international markets. Due to adverse weather conditions, the lychee production in Haiyang Province is expected to be around 40,000 to 45,000 tons in 2024.
