According to data from Vietnam's Customs Department of the Ministry of Finance, in the first four months of 2025, despite a slight decline in coffee production, Vietnam's coffee exports to Russia still reached $213.4 million, a year-on-year increase of 54.84%. This indicates stable and increasing demand in the Russian market for Vietnamese coffee, especially Robusta coffee.
In the Taiwan market, Vietnamese enterprises can enter through deeply processed coffee products such as instant coffee and filter bag coffee.
In 2024, processed coffee exports broke through the $1 billion mark. Among coffee export varieties, processed coffee is currently second only to Robusta coffee. Specifically, in 2024, Robusta coffee exports reached $4.185 billion, processed coffee $1.18 billion, Arabica coffee $240 million, and Ethel coffee $10 million.
It can be seen that the global coffee market is increasingly open to Vietnamese processed coffee, including the EU, Vietnam's largest coffee market.
According to the European-American Market Department of Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade, Eurostat data shows that Vietnamese processed coffee exports to the EU have been trending upward from 2015 to 2023. Building a strong Vietnamese coffee brand is crucial, helping to protect enterprises from unnecessary disputes and enhance the value of processed coffee products in domestic and international markets.
In 2025, Vietnam aims to reach coffee exports of $8-10 billion, focusing on expanding the deep processing market and transitioning to a higher value chain.
Recently, the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA) set two goals by 2030, including increasing exports of roasted and ground instant coffee and raising export value to $5-6 billion.
Currently, many coffee enterprises, especially foreign-invested companies, are increasing investment in building coffee processing plants in Vietnam to enhance their competitive advantage in global supply chains.
