In the first 10 months of 2024, Australia imported a variety of agricultural products from over 100 countries, with China, New Zealand, and Vietnam being the leading suppliers. The import value from China increased by 24.3% from the previous year, accounting for 15.18% of the total market share. New Zealand's import value grew by 16.4%, holding an 11.83% share, while Vietnam's import value rose by 35.4%, increasing its market share from 4.45% to 5.23%. Currently, Australia imports only five types of fresh fruits from Vietnam, but negotiations are underway to include grapefruit. To effectively export to Australia, Vietnam is encouraged to meet Australia's strict standards and regulations, navigate market policies, and improve its registration and evaluation systems. The Vietnam Trade Office in Australia will continue to support Vietnamese companies in understanding the Australian market and complying with its regulations.
