Switzerland, which consumes around 75,000-80,000 tons of seafood annually, is expected to see a 4.6% increase in demand this year, particularly for organic products. Vietnam, as the fourth largest supplier of seafood to Switzerland, is urged to invest more in seafood processing and organic exports. However, Vietnamese businesses must meet Switzerland's strict import licensing, high-quality product requirements, and comply with European and Swiss food labeling regulations. Notably, Switzerland is the largest consumer of seafood with the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) standard. Trade between Vietnam and Switzerland exceeded US$1.85 billion in the last nine months of 2023.
