The Vietnam Office of Notification and National Inquiry Point on Sanitation, Epidemiology and Quarantine (SPS Vietnam) has issued a warning to units exporting agricultural and aquatic products, highlighting the need for compliance with the EU's regulatory limits on agrochemical residues. This advisory comes in the wake of a recall of a batch of fragrant rice due to exceeding the EU's permissible limit of tricyclazole residue and the detection of harmful substances like chlorpyrifos ethyl, sulphites, Profenofos, and nitrofurans in various Vietnamese exports. The European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) has issued warnings for over 300 product shipments from multiple countries for violations of the EU's food safety regulations, including high levels of pesticide residues and mycotoxins. This situation underscores the need for strict adherence to these regulations to avoid recalls and maintain market reputation.
