Despite economic reforms and increased input costs, the price of eggs in Iran has remained stable in 1402, according to Mohammad Moradi, CEO of Mehen Poultry Breeders Central Union. The country has seen a production increase of 100,000 tons from the previous year and a significant rise in exports to 135,000 tons, up from 20,000 tons three years ago. The Union, which exports to neighboring countries and plans to expand to Russia, has ensured all egg-laying chickens are insured and holds no government debt. Iran's per capita egg consumption is higher than the global average, ranking 9th in the world for egg production. The industry also saves 600 tons of inputs daily and conserves 3.6 million cubic meters of water annually.
