The article provides an analysis of the agricultural export performance in the year up to July 2022, revealing a surplus of approximately 1.3 billion euros, with a 25% increase in total exports across most product categories. Fruit exports experienced a significant 32.8% growth despite weather challenges, leading to a surplus of around 20 million euros. Notably, there was a substantial increase in the export of local fruits like melons, apricots, apples, and grapes, with apples doubling, walnuts and melons increasing by 1.5 to 2 times, and apricots tripling. However, the import of bananas more than doubled, exceeding local exports and dominance in the market. Despite the challenges, local fruit production showed varied results across regions and species. The article highlights the dynamics of the domestic fruit market, where imports significantly surpassed exports, especially with bananas, indicating a reliance on imports for fulfilling market demand.
