On September 26, a fire broke out at the National Information Resources Management Center in Daejeon, resulting in the complete loss of the G Drive server and backup server. Numerous public service documents vanished in an instant, and recovery is still slow. Even more surprising is the fact that the core national information infrastructure, G Drive, did not even have an external backup. This incident has revealed the true face of the e-government that South Korea had been proud of. Although the nature of the incident is different, it reminds the author of the vulnerable statistical infrastructure in the aquaculture industry. In 2024, the total domestic production of aquatic products was 3.61 million tons, of which 62%, or 2.25 million tons, was produced by seaweed farming. The aquaculture industry is already a major part of Korea's fisheries industry.
