Farmers in Niğde, Turkey, have begun planting white cabbage, making it the second-largest producer of the vegetable in the country. The province, located in an agricultural region, produced 136 thousand tons of cabbage on 20 thousand decares of land last year, contributing 23% to Turkey's total production. For the first time last year, Niğde also exported cabbage to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Azerbaijan, and expects to increase its cultivation area by 300-400 decares this year. The region's cabbage production is more efficient than the national average.
