Will animals remain in Bulgaria and is vaccination the salvation?

In just a few weeks, the sheep and goat plague has reached 155 outbreaks, of which over 100 are in the Plovdiv region. This is according to official data available to Agri.BG from the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA). On paper, these are just numbers, but they represent 17,188 fewer animals as of August 20. It is clear to all of us that behind each herd are years of work, lost income, and discouraged farmers. Farmers have long been saying the same thing—vaccination is needed. Unofficial information has emerged, yet to be confirmed, that the BFSA is preparing a vaccination campaign within a radius of 3 to 10 km around the outbreaks. However, we all know—in agriculture and livestock farming, time is everything. The slower the action, the more herds go to slaughter. The truth is simple—euthanasia is not a solution, it is an extreme measure that leaves a void. A farmer who has lost his animals will find it difficult to start over.
