The Nomisma Observatory's latest report reveals a continued decline in total wine imports in the top 12 global markets in Q1 2024, with a notable exception being Italy, which experienced a less severe decrease compared to the general trend. Despite falls in both value and volume, Italy's performance outpaced the average, with the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and China showing growth in imports from Italy. Sparkling wines from Italy, in particular, saw positive trends in the UK, France, Canada, Australia, and China, with slight price increases for these categories.
