Paraná is the second-leading state in the value of forest production in the country, with R$ 6.9 billion and a 20.7% increase compared to 2023, reaching a new record. This is according to the Survey of Plant Extraction and Silviculture (PEVS), released this Thursday (25) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) and based on the year 2024. The state accounts for 15.6% of the country's forest production. Minas Gerais is in first place, with a share of 19.4%, and São Paulo comes right after Paraná, with 12.9%. The sum of these three states represents almost half of what is produced nationally, with 48%, and the remaining Federation Units add up to 52%. According to the IBGE, silviculture accounts for 91.65% of the value of Paraná's forest production, with R$ 6.34 billion, maintaining the growth trajectory of recent years, with an increase of 24.09% compared to 2023.
