The Aydın Metropolitan Municipality's Ata Seed project, started 10 years ago, is expanding every year and aims to free farmers from their dependence on Israeli seeds. The project, initiated under the guidance of Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, distributes seedlings from local and national seeds to citizens for free, with high demand seen for winter vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, and lettuce. The goal of the project is to protect local seeds, prevent their loss, and transfer them to future generations.
