Yeongguang County announced that it will start distributing the strategic crop direct payment and rice paddy alternative crop cultivation support subsidies sequentially from the 19th of this month. The strategic crop direct payment, aimed at stabilizing the supply and demand of rice, increasing the self-sufficiency rate of other food crops, and improving rice paddy utilization to stabilize rice prices and agricultural income, amounts to ₩39.2 billion in total. This includes ₩18.56 billion for 1,862 winter crops covering 4,342 hectares, ₩16.5 billion for 609 summer crops covering 672 hectares, and ₩850 million for 40 alternative crops covering 34 hectares. This subsidy payment is not only crucial for stabilizing the management of farmers but also for creating a stable production environment for alternative crops in rice paddies.
