Zulhas Encourages Local Food Production to Support Free Nutritious Meal Program

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Minister for Food and Agriculture, Zulkifli Hasan, is urging local governments and village communities to strengthen local food production to support the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. He believes this policy not only improves the nutrition of the community but also strengthens the village economy through a fair and sustainable supply chain. Zulkifli explained that the nutritious meal program is designed to reach 82 million beneficiaries across Indonesia. The large daily food needs of the program, according to him, can become an economic opportunity for villages if they can provide foodstuffs such as eggs, fish, vegetables, and fruits independently. “There is a nutritious meal program that will benefit 82 million people.
