Egyptian food industry exports to Canada increased by 7.7% during the first 7 months of this year, reaching $14 million, compared to $13 million during the same period last year, according to Eng. Tamim El-Dawy, Deputy Executive Director of the Export Council for Food Industries . During a symposium organized by the Export Council for Food Industries today, in cooperation with the Commercial Representation Agency and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, under the title “Opportunities to develop Egyptian food industries exports to Canada,” he pointed out that Canada occupies the 38th place in the list of the most important importing countries for Egyptian processed foods within 7 months, with a percentage of 0.6% of the total Egyptian food exports. El-Dawy said that the Egyptian food industry exports to Canada witnessed a remarkable growth during 6 years, as it rose from 4 million dollars in 2014 to 27 million dollars in 2020, registering an increase of 234%.
