Over 90% of the sunflowers and more than 98% of the soybeans in Zala County have been sown, despite farmers being several days behind schedule due to unfavorable weather. The development of autumn and spring cereals has been supported by May's rain, and despite some delays in sowing rapeseed and damage from spring frosts, farmers are focusing on plant protection to ensure a good harvest. Zala County produces a variety of crops including corn, sunflowers, soybeans, fodder peas, alfalfa, buckwheat, oil pumpkin, silage and grain circus, sweet corn, barley, wheat, oats, potatoes, sugar beets, and triticale.
