Vietnam is aiming to significantly boost its fruit and vegetable export earnings, targeting to increase the export turnover to 8-10 billion USD by 2030 and increase the proportion of processed products to 30% or more. The country has seen consistent growth in fruit and vegetable exports, reaching 3.8 billion USD in 2018, but experienced a slight decrease in 2019 and 2020 due to technical barriers and the COVID-19 pandemic. With a favorable climate and a wide variety of vegetables and fruits, Vietnam exports to over 85 countries, with China being the tenth largest market. However, the country faces challenges such as high post-harvest losses, lack of advanced processing facilities, and high logistics costs, which need to be addressed to achieve its export goals.
