By the end of 2028, the Makhachkala Sea Trade Port (MMTP) will complete the construction of the largest grain terminal on the Caspian Sea. Its handling capacity will be 1.5 million tons of grain per year, with a storage capacity of 500,000 tons. Currently, the construction of a road from the port, connecting it to the federal highways Astrakhan-Makhachkala and Rostov-Baku, is being funded by federal and republican budgets.
