North Korean leader Kim Jong-un attended the inauguration of the Sinpho City Offshore Farm, a new facility in Sinpho city, home to a submarine base and a site for submarine-launched ballistic missile tests. The farm, which specializes in growing and processing seafood, is a key component of North Korea's '20x10 regional development policy', which aims to build modernized factories in at least 20 remote counties each year over the next decade. Kim Jong-un praised the initiative and called for modernization in agriculture and rural communities, as the country's economy heavily relies on the agricultural sector. However, North Korea continues to struggle with food shortages due to sanctions and natural disasters, and Kim Jong-un also plans to open another fish farm as a pilot program.
