The National Supply Company (Conab)'s publication reveals the dynamics of the açaí, cocoa, and jatropha markets in Brazil. Açaí, primarily produced in Pará, has seen an increase in global demand, leading to higher exports. Meanwhile, cocoa producers in the Amazon region have benefited from improved prices, with a 32% and 24% increase in Amazonas and Pará, respectively. Jatropha production in southern states has also surged due to favorable climatic conditions, with the Food Acquisition Program purchasing 26 tons of the product.
Since its inception, PGPM-Bio has supported thousands of collectors of these products with over R$95 million in grants. Açaí harvest usually starts in June and ends in December, cocoa production spans across the Amazon region, especially in Amazonas and Pará, and jatropha is mainly produced in the south of Brazil. Both cocoa and jatropha markets have shown positive trends, with increased prices and demand.
