Despite the impact of COVID-19, Vietnam's agricultural sector experienced an 11.2% increase in export turnover in the first two months of 2021, reaching 3.78 billion USD. This includes a 0.7% increase in seafood exports, a 14.6% increase in vegetable and fruit exports, a 21.5% increase in cashew nut exports, and a 78.2% increase in cassava and cassava product exports. Rubber exports saw the most significant increase, with a volume increase of 89.9% and a value increase of 109.7%. The Prime Minister emphasized the sector's success and stated that the export of agriculture, forestry, and fishery in 2020 reached 41.2 billion USD. The government aims to increase this to 60-62 billion USD by 2030. The sector has shifted its focus from quantity to quality and added value, with rice exports showing success in this strategy.
