Colombia has successfully negotiated the export of frozen and refrigerated vacuum packed beef to Algeria, following approval from the Algerian health authority. The export will be subject to specific sanitary requirements, including transport, storage, and disease management. This development is expected to boost rural development and the economy in Colombia. The Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) and the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (INVIMA) played key roles in the negotiations. Algeria joins a list of countries including Russia, Chile, and the United Arab Emirates, with which Colombia can export beef.
