As of November 1, Kazakhstan has stored 23.5 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, primarily wheat, with a total food grain and legume storage capacity of 18.9 million tons. The largest storage regions are North Kazakhstan, Akmola, and Kostanay, with significant amounts also in Karaganda, Pavlodar, and East Kazakhstan. The government has been called upon to address the critical situation in the grain market, as the country loses out on record harvests.
