Egypt is implementing a contractual crop plan to ensure food security and reduce the impact of the global food crisis caused by the Russia-Ukraine war. This plan, overseen by the Ministry of Agriculture, involves forming a Contractual Cultivation Center that makes contracts with farmers, providing seeds and fertilizers, and guaranteeing a fair price for strategic crops such as yellow corn, soybeans, fodder crops, sesame, and oil crops. The government is also conducting awareness-raising workshops for farmers and combating merchants who buy crops at low prices. This approach aims to achieve self-sufficiency in food crops and encourage farmers to grow strategic crops.
