The share of domestic feed in the Russian aquaculture feed market increased by 10% in the first eight months of 2023, while the share of foreign feed decreased. However, the production of domestic feed still cannot meet the demands of the market. Imported aquaculture feeds account for 68% of the market, compared to 78% in 2022. The industry is growing, but faces difficulties such as dependence on imported raw materials and a lack of production facilities and feed additives in Russia. Russian scientists are working on developing feed for aquaculture that does not require fishmeal and oil.
