The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Argentina announced the opening of the Ecuadorian market for Argentine lemons and sweet citrus fruits such as oranges, mandarins, and grapefruit. This decision follows successful negotiations and agreement on work plans and sanitary certificates for export. The opening of the Ecuadorian market extends Senasa's certified export of 260,649 tons of fresh citrus, partly to other South American countries, into 2024, aiming to meet the demand and requirements of the Ecuadorian market.
