In 2020, Austria exported dairy products valued at 1.3 billion euros with the majority, over 50%, being exported to Germany. Other significant recipients included Italy, other EU countries, and non-EU countries, contributing 16%, 11%, and 15.7% respectively. The top five exporting countries were Germany, Italy, China, the Netherlands, and Greece. Cheeses made up the largest share of these exports at 50.7%, while 24% were milk and cream, 11.6% were fermented dairy products, 7% were whey products, and 4.4% were dry milk.
