Agricultural production in Bahia is expected to register growth in 15 of the 26 crops monitored in the state in 2026, compared to 2025. The projection indicates that the first crops of corn, beans, and cocoa will show the largest increases in absolute values. Corn is expected to grow by 156 thousand tons (+8.1%), beans by 116.9 thousand tons (+35.3%), and cocoa by 6,297 tons (+5.3%). According to the survey, Bahia is expected to maintain in 2026 the position of second-largest cotton producer in the country, accounting for 17% of the national production, just behind Mato Grosso. The data are part of the second forecast of the Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production (LSPA), released by IBGE in December.
