Beef in Brazil: Exports in June grow 37% in revenue and 6.5% in volume compared to June/21

by Sandy Oliveira São Paulo, 07/06/2022 - Revenue from Brazilian exports of fresh and processed beef rose 37% in June compared to the same month in 2021, to US$ 1.45 billion. The volume was about 6.5% higher compared to the same month last year, totaling 176,455 tons, informed the Brazilian Association of Refrigerators (Abrafrigo) based on data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) of the Ministry of Economy. According to Abrafrigo, 109 countries increased their purchases of the Brazilian product, while another 43 decreased their volume. The association highlights that the sale of beef abroad in the first half of the year reached 1,090,017 tons, up 24% over the same period in 2021. In terms of revenue, the amount increased from US$ 4.085 billion in 2021 to US$ $ 6.245 billion in the six months of this year, an increase of 53%, which reflects, in part, the increase in the international prices of the product.
