Belarus has imposed temporary restrictions on the import of sheep and goats from Russia's Kostroma region due to outbreaks of sheep and goat pox, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture's Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision. The prohibition, effective from August 4, extends to slaughter, breeding, and custom sheep and goats, as well as dairy products, leather, and other products derived from these animals. The decision was made to safeguard Belarus' livestock from the highly contagious disease, which can lead to a mortality rate of up to 100% in severe cases.
