Belgium and China: agreement on export of pork products

The Belgian Federal Agency for Food Chain Safety (FAVV) has taken an important step with the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) to extend the export of Belgian pork products to China. After extensive negotiations, an agreement was signed this week. This concerns products such as pig’s feet, which are rarely consumed in Belgium but are very popular in China. When African swine fever broke out in Belgium in 2018, many third countries, including China, imposed restrictions on trade in Belgian pork.
