In January 2021, Turkey saw a significant increase in Black Sea salmon exports, earning $19.8 million from sales to 23 countries, a 87% increase in amount and 73% increase in value compared to the same period in 2020. The highest exports were to Russia, Germany, and Vietnam. The demand for Black Sea salmon, also known as rainbow trout, is high in foreign markets, but bureaucratic issues related to production permits are causing delays and potential negative impacts on exports.
