The Manuripi Amazonian National Wildlife Reserve in Bolivia is aiming for organic certification for four products, including the chestnut, açaí, majo, and royal palm, by 2024, with the goal to export to specialized markets. This is a first for the department of Pando and Bolivia for the majo and royal palm. The reserve values wild production and aims to meet international standards to access distinguished markets at competitive prices, enhancing income for producers and diversifying the reserve. The certification process also focuses on social, environmental, and production aspects, ensuring no harm to fauna and flora, no deforestation, and adherence to good fruit harvesting practices. The reserve also has two processing plants and is dedicated to conserving the Amazonian humid tropical forest ecosystem.
