Bolivia has set a new record in peanut exports, with a total of eight thousand tons valued at 7.6 million dollars between January and June 2021, marking a 27% increase in value and 19% increase in volume compared to the same period last year. The majority of these exports, 84%, were sent to the Andean Community, with the European Union accounting for 9%. The production of these peanuts is predominantly from Santa Cruz, Cochabamba, and Chuquisaca. This improvement in the peanut export sector is seen as a sign of economic recovery for Bolivia, which has been adversely affected by Covid-19 and the interim government led by Jeanine Áñez.
