Brazil's fish exports have seen an increase in value despite a decrease in volume, due to a shift in the types of products exported. The average price per kilogram sold abroad rose by 21.2% from 2022 to 2023. Tilapia, primarily exported by Paraná, led the exports, generating $23.3 million, followed by Tambaki. The United States is the main importer of Brazil's fish products, accounting for 88% of the total. The rise in foreign sales is attributed to the professionalization and scale of production of the companies.
