In March, Brazil's rice exports fell to 85.4 thousand tons, generating $43.2 million, a decrease from the previous year's 115.8 thousand tons and $46.4 million in revenue, according to the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz) and the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC). The exports were primarily processed cereal, with the main destinations being Cuba, Senegal, Gambia, and Peru. In the first quarter, exports totaled 267.6 thousand tons, bringing in $104.1 million. Meanwhile, rice imports in March stood at 116 thousand tons, costing $49.5 million, and from January to March, Brazil imported 455.2 thousand tons of rice, with expenses reaching $195.8 million.
