The breeding of geese and ducks currently shows signs of being a niche production. This was stated by Serhiy Karpenko, the executive director of the "Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine," in an interview with the magazine "Our Poultry Farming," as reported by agrotimes.ua. According to him, these areas were negatively affected even before the military aggression, during the period of quarantine restrictions—industrial production of these products has a higher cost due to the breeding periods and is oriented towards the solvent population. The executive director of the "Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine" noted that over the past four years, the industrial population of geese has decreased fivefold, and ducks twofold, with these types of poultry mainly kept in households, but even there, the population has decreased by 25%.
