For nearly 20 years of Bulgaria's membership in the European Union (EU), the entire agricultural sector has clearly realized how the previous support from Europe, which led to bankruptcies among small and medium-sized farms in the fruit and vegetable sector, is now on the verge of consolidating the remaining operating farms in grain production, livestock farming, as well as companies in the processing sector. However, this distorted structure also leads to the closure of many family farms with over 10 years of history, which is why the sector has decided to rise in protest - to cut off the bleak predictions that in 6 years the country's agriculture could completely disappear. All this is happening against the backdrop of the upcoming Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) of the EU, whose support will mainly target small and medium-sized agricultural businesses.
