Russia's meat consumption is projected to rise to 83 kg per person per year in 2024, according to the head of the National Meat Association, Sergei Yushin. The production of poultry, pork, and beef is also expected to increase in 2024. Russia is already one of the leading producers of poultry and pork globally, and in the top 10 for beef. The country has seen a significant increase in the production of turkey meat, from 100 thousand tons in 2014 to 440 thousand tons in 2023, and is the sole supplier of turkey meat to China. Russia has been a consistent net exporter of meat over the past four years, supplying 1 million tons worth $2 billion to the world market in 2023. Yushin emphasized the potential for expansion in the Chinese, South Asian, and African markets.
