Once a household staple, sardines are now returning to French family dining tables with a new image, becoming a trendy and practical food item. According to Nielsen France market panel data, annual cumulative data as of March 2025 shows that canned sardine sales increased by 3.5% year-on-year, reaching 19,927 tons, with sales revenue also growing 3.5% to €268 million, returning to pre-COVID-19 (2020) levels.
