Brazil: Canola presents good productivity perspective in Rio Grande do Sul

In general, canola crops are in excellent appearance and with good productivity prospects. According to the Conjunctural Newsletter, produced and released last Thursday (08/12) by the Planning Management of Emater/RS-Ascar, linked to the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development (Seapdr), in the Santa Rosa region , the predominant phase of canola cultivation is that of flowering, which already affects 55% of the areas, and advances in 29% of crops for grain filling. The frosts in July caused damage to crops that were in flowering and grain filling, but could be minimized due to the possibility that these plants emit new flowers. During the week, the condition of the crops that were flowering during the frosts was observed: in some, damage to the plants that are forming the first siliques in the basal part of the racemes is noticed.
